Hong Kongs' First New High Speed Train

This is the first high-speed rail link that connects Hong Kong to the mainland’s rail network costing a total of HK$ 84.4 billion for the whole project.
It started in January 2010 and is expected to be completed into 2018.
The trains have been tested at a speed of 200km/h, the maximum speed by design is above 300 km/h.

Promising a reduced carbon footprint, the new trains have a sleek and aerodynamic design and a driving cab at both ends.

The compartments have a wealth of amenities such as power and reclining seats, making the trains suitable for business travellers.

The station will be located in the north of the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD).

The four stations underground main floors will include:
→ Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities
→ Departure lounges
→ Passenger arrival and departure halls
→ Underground track area with 9 long-haul platforms and 6 shuttle platforms
→ Duty-free outlets
→ Food and beverage outlets
→ Station parking and loading facilities
