Sevilla Reactivated: Updated 2021

Cititravel DMC

After a bit by bit year, Cititravel DMC can say that today Seville wakes up again plenty of energy, full of colours and people, as they say here: Seville has a special colour…

What’s new in Seville?
Cititravel would like to give you an update to start brainstorming about your next event in Seville:

 - A larger and renovated international airport.
The ambitious renovation works at the Airport of Seville began in 2019 and are to be completed and fully operative in 1Q 2022. These works, focused on the rapidly growing international flow of Seville, have meant an investment of € 4.4 million, and include the enlargement of the original terminal (7.000 sqm added), the opening and expansion of the VIP lounge, refurbishment of boarding lounges, expansion of passenger screening, installation of automatic boarding pass readers, as well as an advanced tower, to name some.

 - International direct connections are recovered.
With a 2021 growth of passengers of 122% compared to 2020, Seville Airport is now launched to reach again the 5 million passengers per year of recent times. Most international connections have been recovered to get 63 destinations operated by 17 companies. Some existing main direct connections are: Heathrow, Gatwick, Paris, Lyon, Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Brussels, Geneva, Zurich, Milano, Rome, Vienna, Dublin, Krakow and Budapest.

 - 25 new hotels open in Seville city centre.
Seville has turned to luxury and MICE. The Andalusian capital started new projects in 2020 to add more than 1250 rooms in 25 four and five-star hotels, that will be ready in 2022 - although many of them have been inaugurated already. This means a major improvement of the city's hotel range, which already has 23,000 beds. The openings are headed by prestigious hotel companies such as Radisson, Marriott, Hotusa, Accor, Eurostars.

 - F1 circuit of Monteblanco for private renting and activities.
Driving high-end model cars or motorbikes in a private F1 circuit is easy in Seville. Monteblanco is a professional F1 circuit located just 40 min from Seville city centre, easily accessible by the main motorway. The versatile track can do 10 variants and 4 simultaneous combinations. This circuit is used for professional motorsport and motor industry events and testing programs. Cititravel includes the Circuit of Monteblanco as one of the many possible adrenaline activities to be done in Seville, by privatising and creating driving experiences.
